PDRN (Poly Deoxy Ribo Nucleotide) stimulates and increases the metabolic activity of skin cells called fibroblasts so that they regenerate key skin components such as collagen, glycosaminoglycans and glycoproteins. PDRN activates tired, aging and damaged cells to act younger and get back to work.
They also act mechanically as a scaffold for cells and extracellular matrix to grow on - they have a three-dimensional structure that fibroblasts can use to produce their regenerative effects.
 
Polydeoxyribonucleotide (PDRN) contains polymers of deoxyribonucleotides in which between 50 and 2000 base pairs are combined in a chain, and is known to accelerate cell proliferation by activating the purinergic receptor subtype A2 and the recovery pathway. PDRN helps in skin and tissue regeneration and can also be used in the clinical treatment of diabetic foot ulcers. As it helps to regenerate the skin, it can also be used after laser treatment. PDRN was indicated for tissue repair and wound treatment in skin transplantation in 2008 by the KFDA. PDRN was first approved for clinical use in Italy as a tissue repair stimulating agent.
